When can treatment with the Femilift Laser be considered?
Almost one third of all women between the ages of 30 and 60 suffer from urine leakage, a so-called stress or strain incontinence, when laughing, sneezing, coughing or doing sports.
The cause of incontinence symptoms is often the stress of childbirth, other strains, frequent infections or hormonal changes during the menopause. In advanced age, urinary incontinence is not uncommon in women.
The almost painless treatment with the Femilift Laser can significantly reduce the symptoms of strain or stress incontinence grade 1 and 2, often also referred to as bladder weakness, within a short period of time and thus improve the quality of life in the long term. Dr. Cermak at Dermacare works with state-of-the-art laser technology, with the help of which complaints such as urinary incontinence can be treated on an outpatient basis, almost painlessly and sustainably.
Before the treatment, an analgesic cream is applied to the outer vagina and at the entrance to the vagina before the CO2 laser is inserted vaginally with the appropriate attachment. For treatment, the laser beam is activated, which hits the skin by rotating the handpiece, centimeter by centimeter, in a radius of 360 degrees.
The thermal power of the laser activates the production of the body’s own collagen in the connective tissue layer below the mucosa, the so-called submucosa, and the entire mucosa is stimulated to renew itself. In the process, the connective tissue is tightened and blood circulation is stimulated. By strengthening the pelvic floor and the tissue around the urethra, complaints of bladder weakness or incontinence are greatly reduced after just one treatment.
The laser treatment is almost painless, lasts about 30 minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis.

Femilift laser treatment procedure
1. Anamnesis questionnaire
The treatment procedure for a vaginal tightening or vaginal rejuvenation in Vienna at Dermacare is explained in detail below. An anamnesis questionnaire is completed before each initial treatment. This allows possible risks to be recognised and prevented.
2. Consultation
The first step is a detailed preliminary consultation with the specialist Dr Cermak, during which you can bring up anything that is bothering you in your daily life. Pain during sexual intercourse, problems after childbirth or during the menopause, urinary leakage during sport: Dr Cermak will deal with everything respectfully. Prepare yourself for the consultation and talk openly about your wishes and expectations.
3. Treatment
After a consultation, you will sit comfortably in the treatment chair.
An applicator about 3cm thick is gently inserted into the vagina. Dr Cermak begins the treatment. The laser now creates tiny "injuries" in the vagina, which are perceived as warmth that is not unpleasant. The heat leads to the desired tightening of the collagen fibres and the tissue is stimulated to renew and thicken. This results in successful vaginal rejuvenation.

4. After the Femilift treatment
Following vaginal tightening, you should refrain from bathing and sexual intercourse for 3 to 5 days. If the vulva is also treated over a large area, it is advisable to apply a wound and healing ointment several times a day.
